Greetings from Cedar Valley College!

As the president of Cedar Valley College, I thank you for reading this second edition of our Cedar Valley College magazine. It is designed to provide you with the helpful information you need when planning for a higher education. We have a fast-growing enrollment of nearly 9,000 credit students, with numerous programs aimed at preparing you for a successful career. I am personally excited that you are considering Cedar Valley College as your choice for an Associate degree or certificate.

Speaking of excitement, I am very pleased to highlight the Platinum Pass in this edition of our magazine. It is redeemable for one three-credit class at Cedar Valley College (terms and conditions apply), which equals $177 in value. Only 100 Platinum Passes will be redeemed, so be sure to cut it out of the magazine, fill it out, and bring it to the Financial Aid office at Cedar Valley in Building L, 3030 North Dallas Avenue, Lancaster, Texas 75134. We highly encourage you to use this gift of education as a pathway to your future success.

Another exciting initiative is our Golden Ticket, now in its third year, distributed during Graduation in May. This year, we made it easier than ever to use the ticket, also redeemable for a three-credit class. If you were one of the lucky ones to get a ticket, you have until Dec. 24, 2019 to redeem it. Just like the Platinum Pass, please redeem it at our Financial Aid office.

And finally, I want to express my personal gratitude for the support CVC receives from our community. As a member of the Dallas County Community College District, we will benefit from the successful DCCCD bond election that was conducted in May. Our master plan addresses the growth we expect to have in our Early College High School program and with our participation in the Dallas County Promise scholarship initiative. We want Cedar Valley College to be not only the college of choice for the southern sector of Dallas County, but also a must-visit destination for the entire community. You will gradually see a transformation of our beautiful campus to make it even more inviting and engaging for our students and our stakeholders.

In conclusion, thank you again for considering Cedar Valley College. At just $59 per credit hour for in-county tuition, we remain one of the smartest educational investments you can make. Please come visit us in person or take the virtual tour of our campus. Our mascot is the Suns, and we like to say that the sun never sets on your possibilities.
